Eileen Seitz was born in Midtown Manhattan
June 28, 1951. Growing up and living in New York City, her interests
in drawing and painting began at the early age of eight years
old. At age thirteen she won a first place award for an oil painting
in a New York City street art show. At sixteen she sold her first
painting to a New York City art dealer. She was accepted to Pratt
Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. where she studied Fine Arts and developed
her already gifted passion for drawing, oil painting and watercolors.
In 1968 her life travels began. US Virgin Islands, British Virgin
Islands, Puerto Rico , Key West, Mexico all of Central America,
Columbia, Kauai, Eleuthera, St. Marteen, Tortola, Jamaica, Maui,
England, Brussels, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Italy,France,
Guadalupe, Virgin Gorda, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Martinique, Dominica,
Anguilla, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Tavenui Fiji, Bega Fiji
.
The Truth and Beauty of these places is overwhelming and Inspires
Eileen. She deeply feels and embraces the wonder and excitement
of life flowing through her and onto her canvas or paper. Her
paintings are in wonderful accord with beautiful harmonic colors
yet each painting has a spiritual personality of its own, as does
the culture, climate and nature it rejoices in.
In 1981 she moved to Coconut Grove and 1982 began to self publish
her own paintings as art cards, posters, s/prints, s/n limited
editions and miniprints. This act of taking her work into print
form, opened her market to the entire world.
Her paintings have gained national and international Recognition
and acclaim for their originality, unique character and style.
However her true joy comes from two things. The actual art of
painting, of letting the spirit speak through her brush and seeing
that spirit reborn in the faces and hearts of the people who come
to share her anonymous gift.
